Our team watched the eclipse at an event hosted by Science Museum Oklahoma, one of our 26 member agencies. The museum provided hands-on activities outdoors and eclipse-themed shows inside in the Kirkpatrick Planetarium. Hundreds gathered to watch in awe through creative viewing utensils and telescopes provided by the museum. Astronomy experts were also on-site to answer questions about what was happening, why we saw so many crescents, and how to safely view the eclipse.

Our team also received an inside look into the motivation behind the gathering at SMO. Communications Director Lindsay Thomas explained the rarity of the event and importance of engaging the community.
